The Compagnie des Bateaux du Lac d’Annecy Goes 100% Electric by 2025!
The Groupe Tourisme Participations owns:
- Compagnie des Bateaux d’Aix-les-Bains – Riviera des Alpes
- Compagnie de Navigation du Lac d’Annecy
- Compagnie des Bateaux du Léman
These companies operate across the lake regions of the Pays de Savoie. Aware of how fragile these lakes and their surrounding environments are, the Group has chosen to play an active role in decarbonising these areas, launching a major electric retrofit programme across its entire fleet.
As a first step, the Group looked closely at energy efficiency, which led to renovations focused mainly on hull refurbishment, as well as improved boat insulation and eco-driving practices.
By the end of 2024, every boat in the Groupe Tourisme Participations fleet will run on electric or hybrid power.
This project delivers a major reduction in emissions:
- -90% in fine particulate matter
- -100% in SO2 and NH3
The impact assessment was carried out by ATMO Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.
This project was funded by the Groupe Tourisme Participations with support from the following institutions:

In Annecy, the motors and batteries are installed by the GCK Mobility group. In Aix-les-Bains, the motors and batteries are installed by TORQEEDO.
